In January 2019 the team met for the first time in St. Petersburg, Russia.

The team: Elina Simes, Elin Bergdal, Soili Perkiö, Clara Horbach, Christa Coogan, Elisa Seppänen. Ezgi Tatar couldn't come to St. Petersburg, but we will meet her later!

The Friday 11th, January, 2019. Helsinki Railway Station, Allegro train from Helsinki to St. Petersburg, dining car. There officially begun the New European Mentorship Program in Orff-Schulwerk Pedagogy. The moment was festive (sparkling wine and macarons had something to do with it as well!) , because we all had been waiting for this moment - to meet our mentors, to talk about this amazing program, and to teach, dance and make music together.

Elina and Elin

From the first meeting it was clear that this program was special. To have so much time with these three gurus of Orff-Schulwerk, to have them to observe our teaching and give feedback, and to be able to have deep discussions about teaching and music education - an opportunity of a lifetime! The mentoring trio had prepared us mentees binders with some material for the weekend's seminar, and during the three-and-a-half hour train trip we went through it. At the same time they released the name of the program, and it took some time to practise to be able to say it without hesitation. For the Finns, at least.

This is official!
